Baseball America released its latest Bracketology projections today for the 2026 NCAA Baseball Tournament, and unfortunately for NC State, the Pack landed just outside the projected 64-team field.

Baseball America currently lists NC State as one of the First Four Out.

Why Baseball America Left NC State Out

Here’s what Baseball America had to say about the Wolfpack’s résumé:

“We’re keeping NC State and Michigan out of the field for now. NC State’s RPI outside the top 50 and just 14 conference wins has not been a recipe for tournament entry in recent years and we don’t think this team will buck that trend, especially with Pitt’s resume now clearly ahead of it.” (BA)

That’s the key issue right now.

The combination of:

RPI outside the Top-50
Sub-.500 ACC record

Current Resume Snapshot

As of yesterday, NC State sat at 51st in RPI

The Wolfpack’s overall record is 32-22, and its ACC record is 14-16.

We will have to wait and see what the selection committee decides on Monday.
