NC State 1 or 4 Prioritizing 4-Star SG Matthew Murrell

Published

247Sports’ Evan Daniels caught up with 4-Star 2020 Shooting Guard Matthew Murrell, and the Top-100 prospect said that NC State is 1 of 4 schools that are prioritizing him, along with Memphis, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Here’s what he had to say about all 4.

Murrell said he’s taken an unofficial visit to Memphis, and likes that it’s “the hometown school.” When asked if there’s a draw to stay home, Murrell said: “It’s a thought.”

Tennessee: “I like how Rick Barnes has developed players over the years so they can make a run.”

NC State: “I just like how they had a big time guard in Dennis Smith and now they’re getting Jalen Lecque.”

Ole Miss: “Kermit Davis. He was at Middle Tennessee and he was able to play with the big top teams and he helps develop players.”

247 ranks Murrell as the #80 overall prospect nationally, and the #3 player in the state of Tennessee. Murrell plays for Whitehaven in Memphis.

PI EXCLUSIVE: 4-Star Josh Hall Talks New NC State Offer

Published

on

2020 4-Star Small Forward Josh Hall (6’9″/190) met with NC State head coach Kevin Keatts on campus today, and left with an offer from the Wolfpack. I caught up with him shortly afterwards to get his thoughts.

I just talked to Coach Keatts. It went very well! I just talked to Coach Keatts. He just elaborated on me staying on top of what I’m doing and striving to be better day-by-day. He reminded me that NC State has a family type setting and it’s close to home. He also reminded me he is a winner.

I feel like I can fit in well in Keatts’ system because of my versatility and what I bring to the table.

The things I’m looking for the most in a school is a family type setting where I can get better as a student-athlete.

Josh Hall

247Sports ranks Hall as the #126 player overall nationally in the 2020 class, and the #6 player in the state of North Carolina. Hall was originally a member of the 2019 class.

He currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Wichita St, Rutgers, VCU, Providence, Oklahoma St, and others.

According to Hall, NC State began recruiting him back in 2017.

Hall also plays AAU ball on Team Loaded with 2021 NC State point guard target Carter Whitt.

4-Star SF Josh Hall is Visiting NC State Today

Published

on

2020 4-Star Small Forward Josh Hall (6’9″/190) is taking an unofficial visit to NC State today.

247Sports ranks Hall as the #126 player overall nationally in the 2020 class, and the #6 player in the state of North Carolina. Hall was originally a member of the 2019 class.

Hall is beyond underrated in my personal opinion. He is silky smooth at 6’9″. It is rare to find a player his size that can handle the ball on the brake, milk three-pointers, and glide through the air with finesse.

He currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Wichita St, Rutgers, VCU, Providence, Oklahoma St, and others.

The Wolfpack needs to offer this quick. I wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves tomorrow’s visit with one.

Justin McKoy Decommits from Penn St., Picks Up Offer from NC State

Published

on

3-star 2019 Power Forward Justin McKoy (6’8”/225) has officially decommitted from Penn State, and received his release from his National Letter of Intent.

McKoy verbally committed to the Nittany Lions back on September 12th, and signed his LOI in November.

It didn’t take long at all for NC State to pounce and offer McKoy right after receiving his release.

McKoy is a local talent, playing for Panther Creek High School right down the road in Cary. It wouldn’t be shocking for this to be a quick flip.
