3-Star Tight End DJ Howerton (6’6″/220) has scheduled an Official Visit to NC State for June 20-22.

247Sports and Rivals rank Howerton as a 3-star prospect, with the former ranking him as the #33 Tight End nationally, and the latter ranks him as the #25 player in the state of North Carolina in the 2026 recruiting class.

NC State offered Howerton on January 21st, and he also holds offers from Florida, FSU, Kentucky, Louisville, South Carolina, Wake Forest, West Virginia and others.

Howerton plays for Grimsley High School in Greensboro, where True Freshman Wide Receiver Terrell Anderson played ball.

He has been a frequent visitor to NC State throughout his recruitment.
