NC State announced this morning that Sophomore Quarterback CJ Bailey, Redshirt Senior Linebacker Sean Brown, Redshirt Senior Linebacker Caden Fordham and Redshirt Senior Offensive Guard Anthony Carter Jr. will serve as their Football captains in 2025.

Bailey was thrust into the starting role at Quarterback as a True Freshman in 2024, passing for 2,413 yards and 17 touchdowns (10 interceptions) in 12 games (9 starts). He completed 64.9% of his passes, and produced a Passing Efficiency Rating of 144.0. Bailey also made an impact with his feet, rushing for 279 yards and 5 touchdowns. Back in December, I made the argument that Bailey put together the 2nd best season at Quarterback by a Freshman in NC State history.

This marks the 2nd consecutive year Brown has served as a captain for the Wolfpack. In 2024, Brown led the team in tackles (96) and fumble recoveries (3), and was tied for the 2nd most tackles for loss (9) in his first season at Linebacker. Brown played Safety for the Wolfpack his first three seasons in Raleigh.

Prior to suffering a season ending injury last Fall, Fordham was leading the ACC in tackles. In 6 games, Fordham tallied 48 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 2 pass breakups in his first year as a starter.

Carter Jr. is entering his 3rd straight season as the Wolfpack’s starting Left Guard (26 career starts). He is the most experienced player on NC State’s offense (1,773 snaps).
