NC State Men’s Basketball opens ACC play next Wednesday, hosting Wake Forest on New Year’s Eve at noon. With conference action less than a week away, the Wolfpack already has clear statistical leaders setting the tone.
Offensive Efficiency Leaders
Senior forward Ven-Allen Lubin has been one of the most efficient scorers in the ACC this season. He leads NC State in field goals made, field goal percentage, and two-point field goals made.
Lubin has connected on 69 field goals, four more than senior forward Darrion Williams. His 69.0% field goal percentage is 7.3% higher than senior guard Quadir Copeland, and he has made 66 two-point field goals, 19 more than Copeland.
Among players with at least 25 field goal attempts, Copeland is the only other Wolfpack player shooting better than 50%, converting 59.4% of his shots from the field.
Three-Point Shooting
Sophomore guard Paul McNeil Jr. leads NC State in three-point baskets made with 41, which is 15 more than senior guard Tre Holloman.
While McNeil Jr. has knocked down the most threes, Copeland owns the team’s best three-point percentage, shooting 54.2% from beyond the arc. That mark is 9.4% higher than Holloman’s.
NC State has four players shooting at least 40% from three-point range, a testament to the team’s perimeter efficiency. McNeil Jr. is shooting 42.3%, while Williams is connecting on 41.4% of his attempts.
Rebounding and Physicality
Lubin also leads the Wolfpack on the glass, averaging 6.8 rebounds per game, including 2.7 offensive rebounds. Williams ranks second on the team, pulling down 5.4 rebounds per contest.
Playmaking and Defense
Quadir Copeland has been the engine of NC State’s offense, leading the team with 5.8 assists per game, 2.4 more than Williams. Although Copeland also averages 2.5 turnovers per game, his 2.34 assist-to-turnover ratio reflects a strong balance between aggression and control.
Freshman guard Matt Able leads the Pack in steals, averaging 1.5 per game, providing a steady defensive presence.
Advanced Stat Ratings
From an advanced metrics standpoint, Lubin owns the team’s best offensive rating (139.9), while Able leads the way defensively with a 96.9 defensive rating.
QUADIR COPELAND
Can we just give Copeland the credit he deserves? This guy is averaging 14.1 points, 5.8 assists, 3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. He’s shooting lights out, making 59.4% from the field, and an insane 54.2% from beyond the arc.
