NC State picked up a commitment Thursday night from 2027 athlete Kamarion Johnson (6’0″/185), adding another versatile playmaker to the Wolfpack’s future recruiting pipeline.

Johnson plays for Clinch County High School in Homerville, Georgia, and is currently an unrated prospect. Despite that, his offer list already includes Georgia Tech, Troy, and Georgia Southern, highlighting the early interest in his two-way skill set.

This past fall, Johnson made an impact on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he hauled in 38 receptions for 828 yards and 11 touchdowns, showcasing big-play ability and strong hands. Defensively, Johnson lined up at safety, recording 34 tackles, three tackles for loss, and five interceptions, flashing instincts and ball skills that translate well to the next level.

Johnson becomes the third verbal commitment in NC State’s 2027 recruiting class, joining two in-state three-star prospects: Southeast Raleigh running back Christian Freeman and Cardinal Gibbons tight end Griffin Cockerham.
