NC State Offers Power Forward Grant Duggins

NC State continues to build early relationships with elite young talent.

The Wolfpack recently extended a scholarship offer to 2029 power forward Grant Duggins (6’10”, 220 pounds).

And while Duggins is still extremely early in his development, the upside is obvious.

Very obvious.

Freshman All-American

Duggins was named a Third Team Freshman All-American this season by MaxPreps after helping lead Greensboro Day to a dominant season. Duggins averaged 9.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 41.8 percent from 3-point range.

A 6’10” Freshman shooting 41.8% from beyond the arc, averaging nearly a double-double?

I’ll take that.

The Bengals finished with a record of 36-2 overall, winning the NCISAA 3A State Championship.

MaxPreps also ranked Greensboro Day as the No. 9 team nationally

Not bad company for a freshman big man.

First Power 4 Offer

NC State became the first Power 4 program to offer Duggins.

His current offer list also includes High Point & Stetson.

That probably won’t stay small for long.

Greensboro Day Connection

The offer also continues a growing trend.

NC State recently offered Duggins’ Greensboro Day teammate Micah Gunter, and it’s becoming increasingly clear that new head coach Justin Gainey wants to strengthen ties with one of North Carolina’s premier basketball programs.

That connection runs deep.

Greensboro Day is Gainey’s alma mater, and legendary Bengals head coach Freddy Johnson coached Gainey during his playing days and still leads the program today.

Duggins plays for CP3 Elite on the AAU circuit, and has been dominating recently.
