NC State Offers 2028 Guard Micah Gunter

Yesterday, new NC State head coach Justin Gainey offered several underclassmen, and the first one I’m highlighting is 3-star 2028 combo guard Micah Gunter (6’3″/170) from Greensboro Day School in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Gunter also holds offers from Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Boston College, Oklahoma State, High Point, and Coastal Carolina.

This past season, Gunter played a major role in leading the Bengals to a stellar 36-2 record and the NCISAA 3A state championship, their second straight title.

Gainey has a deep, lifelong connection to one of North Carolina’s premier high school basketball programs. Greensboro Day is his alma mater, and longtime head coach Freddy Johnson, who coached Gainey during his playing days, is still leading the Bengals to this day.

Currently, Rivals rates Gunter as a 3-star prospect. He ranks as the #4 combo guard in the 2028 class nationally and one of the top overall players in North Carolina.
