Back in December 2017 3-Star Dual-Threat Quarterback Todd Centeio committed to Miami, but last month he had second thoughts and decommitted from the Canes on May 22nd. Since he has reopened his recruitment, NC State has been recruiting Centeio hard. We caught up with him and he talked about NC State’s recruitment of him, as well as some insight to some of the other schools that are recruiting him.
“NC State loves me. They said if they can get my commitment, they will shut down their recruitment of the quarterback position,” Centeio said. “I really love NC State. NC State is a really underrated school, and I think they would be a real good fit for me. There’s a real good feel about NC State.”
Centeio said that Miami is definitely still recruiting him, but so is another North Carolina school.
“I talk to NC State, UNC and Miami frequently. I am going to sit back and see which school really wants me and is going to take the time to recruit me.”
He said he also really likes South Carolina, and plans on camping there on July 25th, and really likes Mississippi St. as well. At the end of the day Centeio is wide open, and is interested in a lot of schools, but is just waiting to see which schools are really interested in him.
Centeio holds offers from NC State, Miami, Nebraska, Cincinnati, South Florida, Temple, W. Kentucky, Indiana, and South Florida.
He is finishing up his final day camping with the Texas Longhorns today.
4-Star Michigan State RB Commit is Planning an Official Visit to NC State
4-Star 2024 Running Back Anthony Carrie (5’11″/195) is verbally committed to Michigan State, but after speaking with him, he informed me that he is looking to take an Official Visit to NC State.
Carrie verbally committed to the Spartans on June 24th, but that didn’t stop the Wolfpack from extending him a scholarship offer on September 21st.
While Carrie doesn’t have an Official Visit to Raleigh officially scheduled, he is planning on taking one, and November 4th could be a possibility.
Sophomore NC State Nose Tackle Brandon Cleveland went to Carollwood Day High School in Tampa, Florida, which is where Carrie goes as well. Carrie told me that Cleveland, his former teammate, is recruiting him hard, trying to get him to flip his commitment.
As a Junior last year, Carrie averaged 6.5 yards per carry, and collected 16 rushing touchdowns.
NC State WR Target Christian Zachary Decommits from UVA
NC State 2024 3-Star Wide Receiver target Christian Zachary (6’3″/190) announced today that he has officially decommitted from UVA.
Zachary originally verbally committed to UVA back on June 6th. That didn’t deter NC State from offering him on June 10th.
This past weekend, Zachary took an Official Visit to NC State.

Zachary plays for Calhoun County in Saint Matthews, South Carolina, and ON3 and Rivals rank him as the #13 overall player in the state of South Carolina in 2024.
The writing is on the wall. I don’t expect it to be long before we get an announcement that Zachary has flipped his commitment from UVA to NC State.

Could NC State Flip a UVA WR Commit in the Near Future?
NC State beat UVA in Charlottesville this past weekend, and they might just flip a 2024 UVA verbal commit in the near future.
3-Star Wide Receiver Christian Zachary (6’3″/190) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State this weekend, starting Friday, when the Wolfpack hosts Louisville.
Zachary verbally committed to Virginia back on June 6th. With that being said, NC State recruiting analysts for 247Sports and ON3 both predict that Zachary will flip his commitment from the Cavaliers to the Wolfpack.
UVA and NC State aren’t the only two school to extend offers to Zachary. He also holds offers from Duke, App St., Cincinnati, Liberty, Charlotte, Georgia Tech, ECU and others.
NC State already has a historic Wide Receiver class, with three 4-star verbal commits already. The possible addition of Zachary would be the cherry on top.
