NC State legend T.J. Warren is taking his talents overseas for the first time in his professional career.
The former Wolfpack star has signed a one-year contract with Paris Basketball, one of the top clubs in France’s LNB Elite, the country’s highest level of professional basketball.
After spending the past two seasons in the NBA G League, Warren will now begin a new chapter playing internationally.
First Stop Overseas
This marks the first time Warren will play professionally outside the United States.
The 32-year-old, who turns 33 in September, joins one of Europe’s rising powers.
Paris Basketball captured the LNB Elite regular-season championship last season before falling to AS Monaco in the league finals.
The move gives Warren an opportunity to compete in one of Europe’s premier leagues while joining a team with championship aspirations.
Still Filling Up the Box Score
Although Warren hasn’t appeared in the NBA over the past two seasons, he’s continued to prove he can score at a high level.
Playing for the Westchester Knicks in the G League, Warren averaged:
G League Statistics (Last Two Seasons)
22.7 points per game
6.0 rebounds per game
Before that, Warren enjoyed a successful nine-year NBA career, averaging 14.3 points per game while spending time with the Phoenix Suns, Indiana Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
A Familiar Wolfpack Connection
Warren won’t be the only former NC State player competing in France.
Paris Basketball plays in the LNB with Cholet, where former Wolfpack forward Mohamed Diarra currently plays.
One of the Best Two-Year Careers in Program History
Warren only spent two seasons in Raleigh, but his impact on the program remains unforgettable.
As a freshman, he earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors after averaging:
12.1 points per game
4.2 rebounds per game
62.2% shooting from the field
His sophomore campaign elevated him into NC State history.
Historic Sophomore Season
In 2013-14, Warren became just the third player in school history to earn ACC Player of the Year honors.
He also received Consensus Second Team All-American recognition.
Warren averaged 24.9 points per game as a Sophomore, which is the 5th highest single season average in school history. His 871 points scored that season are the most ever scored by a single player in a single season. Warren also holds the school records for career double-doubles (34) and 20+point games (31).
Final Thoughts
T.J. Warren has been a scorer everywhere he’s played.
From ACC Player of the Year… to a nine-year NBA career… to averaging nearly 23 points per game in the G League… Warren continues to prove he can put the ball in the basket.
Now he’ll begin a new chapter with Paris Basketball as he looks to add another successful stop to an already outstanding professional career.
