NC State has its first commitment in the 2028 football recruiting class.

Tight end Te’Vaughn Bell (6-foot-5, 205 pounds) announced today that he will be running with the Wolfpack, becoming the first player to pledge to NC State’s 2028 class.

Bell’s recruitment moved quickly. The Wolfpack extended an offer just six days ago, and now Dave Doeren and his staff have secured an early commitment from one of North Carolina’s rising prospects.

Recruitment

NC State offered Bell on June 18.

In addition to the Wolfpack, Bell also held offers from Liberty, Campbell, Fayetteville State, and Norfolk State.

At this point, Bell is still an unrated and unranked prospect.

While it’s still extremely early in the 2028 recruiting cycle, Bell gives NC State an athletic pass-catching tight end to build around as the class begins to take shape.

Productive Sophomore Season

Bell put together an impressive season for Northeastern High School in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

2025 Statistics

  • 17 receptions
  • 305 receiving yards
  • 17.9 yards per catch
  • 7 touchdowns

At 6-foot-5, Bell presents a difficult matchup for opposing defenses with his combination of size, length, and athleticism.

Building the 2028 Class

Every recruiting class starts somewhere, and for NC State, the 2028 class starts with Te’Vaughn Bell.

The Wolfpack identified the Elizabeth City standout early, moved quickly after extending an offer, and landed their first commitment less than a week later.

Now Bell becomes the foundation of NC State’s 2028 recruiting class.
