The 2025-26 athletic year has officially come to a close, and NC State once again finds itself among the nation’s elite athletic departments.

The Wolfpack finished 22nd in the final Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, marking the second consecutive year NC State has finished in 22nd place nationally.

More importantly, it extends the most successful stretche in school history.

NC State has now finished in the Top 25 of the final Directors’ Cup standings for six consecutive years, a streak that coincides exactly with Boo Corrigan’s tenure as the school’s athletic director.

ACC Directors’ Cup Rankings

NC State finished 6th in the 2025-26 ACC Directors’ Cup Standings, after finishing 5th last season.

What is the Directors’ Cup?

The Learfield Directors’ Cup was established during the 1993-94 athletic year to recognize the nation’s most successful overall athletic departments.

Rather than rewarding success in a single sport, the standings measure performance across a school’s entire athletic program by awarding points based on NCAA postseason finishes.

It’s one of the best indicators of the overall health and competitiveness of an athletic department.
