Hurt is a consensus 3-star prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

ESPN ranks him as the No. 40 offensive guard nationally and the No. 81 overall player in the state of Georgia.

Recruiting Battle

The Wolfpack won an impressive recruiting battle to land Hurt.

He chose NC State over a Top Five that included West Virginia, Georgia, Rutgers, and Colorado.

Hurt took official visits to NC State, Colorado, and West Virginia before announcing his commitment to the Wolfpack.

His offer sheet was equally impressive.

In addition to the schools in his Top Five, Hurt also held offers from Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Kentucky, Kansas State, North Carolina, Pitt, Arkansas, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Purdue, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Memphis, USF, UNLV, UCF, and others.

Georgia Pipeline Continues

Hurt plays for Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia.

NC State has recruited the Peach State exceptionally well in recent years, and Hurt is another example of the Wolfpack’s ability to go into SEC territory and win recruiting battles.

Landing a player with offers from Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Arkansas, and several other Power Four programs is another strong recruiting victory for Dave Doeren and his staff.

Building the 2027 Class

Hurt becomes the latest addition to what is shaping up to be an impressive 2027 recruiting class.

The Wolfpack has already landed several highly regarded prospects, including quarterback Gunner Rivers and safety KJ Caldwell, while continuing to add talent on both sides of the ball.

Adding Hurt gives NC State another physical presence in the trenches and further strengthens one of the class’s biggest position groups.

Final Thoughts

Winning recruiting battles in the Southeast is never easy, especially when programs like Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, and South Carolina are involved.

NC State did exactly that with Bryson Hurt.
