5-Star G Anfernee Simons Took His Official Visit to NC State This Weekend

Published

on

This weekend 5-Star 2018 Guard Anfernee Simons took an Official Visit to NC State.

Simons is a former Louisville commit, who decommited due to the exodus of Rick Pitino. As Biancardi points out, at this point NC State, Tennessee, South Carolina and Minnesota are recruiting him the hardest.

Simons also took an official visit Tennessee on the first weekend of January.

The most interesting thing to watch with Simons will be if he is in the NBA next season or the NCAA next season.

He is technically eligible for the draft, and will explore his chances. In some Mock Drafts from this week, he was projected to go within the top 20 picks.

Even though NC State lost to rival UNC this weekend, he had to have been impressed with the atmosphere.

5-Star PG Jalen Lecque Schedules Official Visit to NC State

5-star 2019 point guard Jalen Lecque (6’4″/190) just included NC State in his Top-7 schools, and word broke yesterday that he has scheduled his 1st official visit to NC State for September 8th and 9th.

Considering the fact that you only get 5 official visits, it’s obvious that NC State ranks highly within that Top-7, which also includes Tennessee, Texas Tech, Louisville, Oregon, TCU and UCLA.

In fact, the 71% of the experts (7 votes) over at 247Sports predict that Lecque will land at NC State in their crystal ball.

It’s worth noting who some of the analysts were that have already predicted that Lecque will land in Raleigh.

Brian Snow, a National Basketball Analyst for 247Sports, was one of them. He hasn’t gotten one prediction wrong in 2019 so far. A solid 28 of 28.

Also, 247Sports reporters that cover Louisville, Kentucky and Duke all also picked NC State.

ESPN ranks Lecque as the #11 overall player in the 2019 recruiting class, and the #2 point guard. Lecque was playing for Christ School in Arden, North Carolina, but he recently transferred to Brewster Academy up in New Hampshire for his Senior season.

No one has been recruiting Lecque harder than Kevin Keatts, and it looks like NC State’s taken the lead in his recruitment.

5-star 2019 point guard Jalen Lecque (6’4″/190) revealed his Top-7 schools tonight, and NC State made the cut along with Tennessee, Texas Tech, Louisville, Oregon, TCU and UCLA.

ESPN ranks Lecque as the #11 overall player in the 2019 recruiting class, and the #2 point guard. Lecque was playing for Christ School in Arden, North Carolina, but he recently transferred to Brewster Academy up in New Hampshire for his Senior season.

Former NC State ACC Player of the Year TJ Warren Alain played his Senior season at Brewster.

NC State offered Lecque on September 14th of last year. Wolfpack head coach Kevin Keatts has been recruiting Lecque as hard as anyone in the country, and don’t expect his move up north to change any of that.

Lecque looks a heck of a lot like Russell Westbrook when you watch him play.
