After losing their season opener to #15 South Carolina, the #21 NC State Women’s Soccer team rebounded, taking down #7 Georgetown on the road yesterday.

After Georgetown put the first ball through the net in the 33rd minute of the 1st half, NC State went on to score 3 unanswered goals.

Sophomore Toni Starova scored on a penalty kick less than a minute after the Hoyas goal, and the score remained 1-1 going into the half.

Senior Tziarra King showed why she was a Preseason All-ACC selection, and had a ball on her birthday. King scored two goals in the second half, securing a 3-1 victory over a Top-10 opponent. Her first goal was assisted by Senior Ricci Walking, and the second one by Senior Kia Rankin and Sophomore Anna Toohey.

King earned 3rd Team All-ACC honors as a Freshman, 1st Team honors as a Sophomore, and 3rd Team as a Junior last year.

The Wolfpack victory up in George Washington was monumental. The win snapped a 24-game Hoyas winning streak at home, and no team had scored more than one goals on their turf since October 28th, 2016. King snapped that all by herself.
