NC State makes Top-5 for Jaydn Jenkins, 6’10 big with at 7 foot wingspan

NC State remains firmly in the mix for one of the nation’s top basketball prospects.

Four-star center Jadyn Jenkins has narrowed his recruitment to five schools, with the Wolfpack joining Michigan State, Xavier, Ohio State, and Georgetown as his finalists.

The 6-foot-10, 220-pound standout is one of the premier players in the 2027 recruiting class and has become one of the country’s most heavily recruited big men.

NC State Earned a Spot Among the Finalists

The Wolfpack extended Jenkins an offer on July 2, and just a few weeks later, Justin Gainey and his staff remain firmly in contention.

Making the final five is a significant step in the recruitment, particularly given the caliber of the other programs still involved.

According to 247Sports, he is ranked:

No. 42 overall player nationally
No. 6 center in the 2027 class
No. 1 player in Pennsylvania

The other major recruiting services are similarly high on his potential.

Regardless of the service, Jenkins is consistently viewed as one of the nation’s Top 60 prospects and the top player in Pennsylvania.

Recruiting Battle Features National Powers

Landing Jenkins won’t be easy.

Each of the remaining schools has a strong track record of developing frontcourt talent and competing at high level.

Michigan State and Tom Izzo have long been among the nation’s premier recruiters, while Ohio State, Georgetown, and Xavier have also prioritized Jenkins throughout the process.

NC State will now look to separate itself during the official visit process.
