The high school football season kicked off this past weekend, and NC State’s 2019 football recruiting commits were in action.

Here’s a breakdown of how they fared.

3-Star Wide Receiver Stephen Gosnell and his East Surry crew demolished East Wilkes 69-7. Gosnell’s performance was epic, reeling in 7 receptions for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns.

3-Star Defensive Tackle Davin Vann and the Cary Imps took care of business on Saturday, defeating the South Raleigh Bulldogs 29-6. Vann was an absolute wrecking ball, filling the stat sheet with 11 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and a 5-yard touchdown run.

4-Star Wide Receiver Nate McCollum and the Dutchtown Bulldogs took down Langston Hughes Panthers 47-27. McCollum had three receptions for 114 yards (152 all-purpose) and 2 touchdowns.

3-Star Safety Nehki Meredith and Bishop Sullivan Catholic trounced Norfolk Christian 54-18. Despite fumbling on the opening play of the game, Meredith did return an interception for a touchdown.

3-Star Offensive Tackle Austin Blaske and the South Effingham Mustangs walloped the Long County Blue Tide 62-27.

3-Star Offensive Guard Jonathan Adorno and the Rolesville Rams squeaked out a 7-0 victory over Franklinton.

3-Star Center Ethan Lane and his Archer teammates made easy work of Tucker, beating the Tigers 41-7.

3-Star Offensive Guard Sean Hill and his Brookwood Broncos were humbled on Week 1, losing 48-20 to McEachern.

3-Star Tight End Ezemdi Udoh and his Terry Sanford squad shutout Lumberton 45-0. While I haven’t been able to track down his full stats, he did have a 3-yard touchdown reception.
