Former NC State All-American shortstop Trea Turner hit a go-ahead Grand Slam last night, ultimately propelling the Nationals to a 6-5 victory over the Phillies, clinching a wild-card playoff birth, after missing the postseason.

Despite battling some injury at the start of the year, Turner is batting .298 with 18 home runs and 34 stolen bases in 118 games.

Turner, a catalyst in Washington’s clubhouse, helped turn a 19-31 team into a playoff team in 2019.
