Former NC State basketball player C.J. Williams has signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

Williams played for NC State from 2008-12, averaging 10.6 points per game his senior year. He eventually made it to the NBA as a 28-year old, but there were a lot of stops along the way.

The North Carolina native played in Cyprus his first year out of college, and played in the G-League for the South Bay Lakers the next. Year 3 was in Italy. France was the stop in Year 4. His 5th year as a professional was in the G-League with the Texas Legends.

Year 6 marked his NBA debut.

In 2017-18, Williams signed a 2-way contract with the Clippers. He played 38 games (18 starts) for LA, averaging 5.5 points per game. He also played for Agua Caliente Clippers in the G-League, averaging 16.5 points in 16 games.

Last season C.J. signed a 2-way contract with the Timberwolves, and played 15 games for Minnesota, averaging 8.5 minutes per game. He also played 36 games for the Iowa Wolves, averaging 14 points per game.

Williams story has been one of perseverance, and now has the chance to play in the NBA for the 3rd straight year.
