The Wolfpack will also be hosting some big time recruits that they’d like to see turned into commitments.
3-Star 2023 Safety Kamal Bonner (6’2″/195), formerly a Georgia Tech commit, is taking his Official Visit to NC State this weekend.
Bonner finished his Senior season with 125 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks.
I’ve also received confirmation from a source that Defensive Tackle Keith Sampson and Wide Receiver Micah Mays (6’2″/175) will be taking Official Visits to NC State this weekend. Both are 2023 4-star recruits who are already committed to other schools. Sampson is committed to FSU and Mays is committed to Wake Forest.
Sampson and his New Bern squad is playing in the North Carolina State Championship game tonight against Grimsley, so his Official Visit will begin tomorrow. His Senior stats with one game remaining are insane: 96 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss and 18 sacks. 247Sports ranks Sampson as the #154 overall player nationally in the 2023 class, and the #5 player in the state of North Carolina.
Mays, according to Maxpreps, had 27 receptions for 503 yards and 8 touchdowns for The Benjamin School in Florida this year. 247Sports ranks Mays as the #179 overall player nationally in the 2023 recruiting class.
Also, I’ve received confirmation from Colorado Offensive Tackle Transfer Casey Roddick began his Official Visit at NC State yesterday, and it will end tomorrow. Roddick was a three-year starter at Colorado and was a team captain this year. Roddick had a grade of 65.3 this season according to ProFootballFocus. Roddick was a 3-star prospect out of high school.
I also received confirmation from JUCO Defensive Lineman Jykeveous Hibbler will be taking his Official Visit to NC State this weekend. Hibbler played for Northwest Mississippi Community College, and has two years of eligibility remaining. This year, Hibbler had 16.5 tackles for loss and 9 sacks.
Finally, I’ve also received confirmation from a source that Clemson Wide Receiver Transfer Dacari Collins (6’4″/210) is taking an Official Visit to NC State this weekend. Collins was a 4-Star recruit in the 2021 recruiting class, and ESPN ranked him as the #130 overall player nationally in the class. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
