On Thursday night, NC State had a couple of prominent recruiting visitors in attendance for their season opening 38-21 victory over Western Carolina.
4-Star 2026 EDGE Zavion Griffin-Haynes (6’6″/220) confirmed with me that he was going to be attending.
Griffin-Haynes is a consensus 4-Star prospect, and a consensus Top-200 player nationally. ON3 ranks him as the #77 overall player nationally in the 2026 recruiting class, the #7 EDGE and the #7 player in the state of North Carolina.
He holds offers from NC State, Ohio St., South Carolina, Auburn, Penn St. FSU, Miami, UCLA, Tennessee, Duke, UNC, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Illinois, Ole Miss, Missouri and others.
Griffin-Haynes plays right down the roads at Rolesville.
Griffin-Haynes’ Rolesville teammate, 4-Star 2027 Defensive Back Marquis Bryant (6’1″/185) was also in attendance.
247Sports ranks Bryant as the #81 overall player nationally in the 2027 recruiting class, the #7 Safety, and the #2 player in the state of North Carolina. Bryant plays for Rolesville. He holds offers from NC State, Duke, Indiana, Miami, UNC, Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and others.
As a Freshman last year, Bryant had 53 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 10 pass breakups and 1 interception.
Bailey has since come out and posted on X that he is “all in with the Wolfpack” so that should let folks know where he sees himself in the future. Kid has a lot of talent to be developed and he will need some time in the S&C department before he is ready, but with Thunder leading the way in that part of our program, I don’t have any worries as to him getting that part squared away.
