NC State Women’s Basketball Gets 2 Technical Fouls for Saying “And-1”?

Last night, the #3 NC State Women’s Basketball team started the ACC slate off with a win on the road, defeating UVA 72-61. While that was awesome, in the “not-so-awesome” category, the Wolfpack were assessed with 2 Technical fouls for saying “And-1” after making baskets.

The Technicals were called on Madison Hayes and Mimi Collins.

Former Wolfpack player, and current ESPN commentator Debbie Antonelli, who was calling the game, expressed her disapproval via a tweet today.

This type of stuff is pure silliness by the referees.
