3-Star 2025 Running Back Grayson Rigdon (5’11″/185) has verbally committed to NC State after his Official Visit to Raleigh this past weekend.

The Wolfpack offered Rigdon a scholarship last week on November 19th.

Rigdon had a Top-7 of North Texas, Abilene Christian, Wyoming, Missouri State, Tarleton, New Mexico and Tennessee State before NC State offered.

Rigdon originally verbally committed to Air Force on April 6th, but decommitted on September 8th.

This is Rigdon’s first season playing 11-man football. Through the first 8 regular season games, he racked up 1,500 total yards of offense and 27 touchdowns for Columbus.

Here are his highlights from the first 6 games of the season.

As a Junior, he completed 82% of his passes for 1,244 yards and 19 rushing touchdowns, rushed for 2,402 yards and 49 touchdowns, aw well as 637 receiving yards and 18 Touchdown receptions.

Rigdon is now a 3-Star prospect, but when he was playing 6-man football, he became the first 6-man player to ever receive a star rating in one of the four nationally recognized recruiting databases, with Rivals giving him a 2-star rating.

He is a 2-sport athlete, playing basketball for Columbus as well. His stats are just as insane on the hardwood. Last season he led the nation in scoring, averaging an audacious 45.1 points per game. He also averaged 8.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 6 steals. He shot 60% from the field and 40% from three.
