Wolfpack football to receive $1.8 million for making a bowl in 2024, per North Carolina State budget presentation?

According to WRAL sports investigative reporter, Brian Murphy, ACC teams that reached a bowl last year will be getting $1.8 million. If they were in the CFP Top 25 at season’s end they would get another $1.8 million.

As part of ACC Success Initiative: Football teams that reached 2024 bowl game will get $1.8M and teams in top 25 will get another $1.8M, per NC State budget presentation.

Basketball units will be worth approx. $350,000 (men) and $60,000 (women)

This is thanks to the ACC Success Initiative, which was announced in May of 2023.

Here is what Dave Doeren had to say about it at the time..

“It’s a great opportunity for the teams that succeed and put the product on the field,” said coach Dave Doeren of 24th-ranked N.C. State. “That’s what it’s about, earning who you are on the grass. … And now you’re getting money for your program when you do that.”

The ACC’s model centers around the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff. Teams could earn $4 million for an appearance, another $4 million for reaching the second round, $6 million for the semifinals and $6 million for the title game — a total of $20 million.
