#10 NC State (2-2) fell to #17 TCU (4-0) 69-59 in Reynolds Coliseum this afternoon. The box score is below, and notes are underneath.

Notes

• It’s hard to win a game when you shoot 33.3% from the field.
  • The Wolfpack has struggled to shoot the ball to start the year.
  • This was NC State’s worst shooting performance of the season, but they’ve only shot over 40% once, and that was 40.3% against Maine.
    • Also, shooting 53.8% from the free throw line isn’t going to cut it.
• TCU dominated the game, leading for 31:40, compared to the Wolfpack’s 5:02.
  • The Horned Frogs won every quarter except the fourth, with NC State outscoring TCU by 6 in the 4th period.
• On a positive note, the Wolfpack was +2 in points off of turnovers, and +2 in second chance points.
  • NC State had 11 assists on 23 made field goals.
• The Wolfpack had 2 players score in double figures.
  • Sophomore Forward Tilda Trygger led the way with 15 points, on 6 of 12 shooting, making 3 of 7 from three.
    • Trygger entered the contest with the Wolfpack’s best 3-point percentage, and after today, she still holds that title.
    • She also had 6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals (team lead).
  • Freshman Guard Destiny Lunan had the best game of her young college career, scoring in double figures for the first time.
    • She finished with 10 points on 3 of 5 shooting, and a team-high 4 steals.
• NC State’s top-3 season scoring leaders combined for 14 points on 6 of 37 shooting.
  • Zam Jones was 0-9.
  • Khamil Pierre was 4-15.
  • Zoe Brooks was 2-13.
    • Brooks led the team with 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
• 39% of the Wolfpack’s points came from the bench.
