3-Star 2026 Quarterback Kaneal Sweetwyne (6’4″/200) requested to be released from the National Letter of Intent he signed to play football for NC State, and it has been granted.

Sweetwyne originally verbally committed to BYU back on February 4th, but ultimately decommitted on August 4th. He picked up an offer from NC State on September 30th, and took an Official Visit to Raleigh on the weekend of November 21st.

He announced his commitment to run with the Wolfpack on December 3rd, signing his NLI on the same day.

This Fall, Sweetwyne proved to be a legitimate Dual-Threat Quarterback. He completed 66.5% of his passes for 3,050 yards and 32 touchdowns (15 interceptions) for Skyridge (Lehi, Utah). He also rushed for 907 yards (6.8 yards per carry) and 14 touchdowns.

Rivals ranks Sweetwyne as the #10 overall player in the state of Utah in the 2026 recruiting class. ESPN ranks him as the #18 Dual-Threat Quarterback nationally.

3-Star Jacob Smith is now the Wolfpack’s lone Quarterback signee in its 2026 recruiting class.
