According to reports, NC State is showing interest in Miami transfer wide receiver Joshisa Trader as the Wolfpack continue to evaluate options in the Transfer Portal.

Trader just wrapped up his sophomore season with the Hurricanes, appearing in 11 games and finishing with 13 receptions for 178 yards and a touchdown.

As a true freshman in 2024, Trader saw action in seven games, hauling in six receptions for 91 yards and a score.

Coming out of high school, Trader was one of the top wide receivers in the country. He was a consensus four-star recruit in the 2024 class, with ESPN ranking him as the No. 25 overall player nationally, the No. 6 wide receiver, and the No. 6 player in the state of Florida.

There is also a strong pre-existing connection between Trader and NC State quarterback CJ Bailey.

The two played together at Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida, where Bailey served as Trader’s quarterback. During their senior season, Bailey’s top receiving option was five-star standout Jeremiah Smith, now at Ohio State. Trader was Bailey’s second option and still produced at a high level, finishing the season with 47 receptions for 757 yards and 14 touchdowns.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Trader would provide NC State with an experienced, athletic target who already has chemistry with the Wolfpack’s quarterback.

Expect Bailey to play a significant role in recruiting Trader to Raleigh.
