NC State junior guard Zoe Brooks was named ACC Player of the Week following a record-breaking performance in the Wolfpack’s dramatic 78-76 overtime win at Virginia on Saturday.

Brooks becomes the first NC State player this season to earn the conference’s weekly honor, and she did it in emphatic fashion.

A Night for the Record Books

Brooks poured in a career-high 37 points, leading NC State to a crucial road victory over the Cavaliers. Her performance now stands as:

  • 9th-highest single-game scoring total in program history
  • Most points by a Wolfpack player since 1998
  • Most free throws made (19) and attempted (20) in NC State history

She finished the game:

  • 8-for-15 from the field (53.3%)
  • 19-for-20 from the free throw line (95.0%)
  • 23 points in the second half and overtime
  • 6 of NC State’s 12 overtime points

When the game was on the line, Brooks delivered.

A Career Year in Raleigh

Brooks’ performance against Virginia is just the latest highlight in what has been a breakout season.

Through 20 games, she is averaging:

  • 15.8 points per game (career high)
  • 4.7 assists per game (career high)

She currently ranks:

  • 6th in the ACC in scoring
  • 7th in the ACC in assists

Her growth as a scorer, playmaker, and late-game closer has been a major reason why NC State remains firmly in the ACC race.
