NC State will host UT Martin Offensive Tackle Jai’Lun Hampton on an official visit, as the Wolfpack continue to address the offensive line through the transfer portal.

Hampton checks in at a massive 6-foot-9, 335 pounds, and brings experience at left tackle, starting every game for the Skyhawks this past season.

According to PFF, Hampton earned a 67.6 overall grade in 2025, which ranked as the 6th-best grade on UT Martin’s offense and the second-highest among offensive linemen. He earned OVC–Big South Second Team honors, tallying 70 knockdowns, while allowing just three sacks all season.

For a player of his size, that level of consistency at left tackle jumps off the page.

A Look at Hampton’s Path

Hampton’s journey to this point hasn’t been linear, but it’s one that shows steady development.

In 2024, he appeared in 11 games as a reserve for UT Martin, logging 220 snaps and earning a 52.8 PFF grade while continuing to develop physically and technically.

Prior to that, Hampton spent the 2023 season at UNC Charlotte, where he did not see the field.

Before arriving at the FBS level, Hampton played at Iowa Western Community College, one of the top JUCO programs in the country. After redshirting in 2021, he started 11 games at offensive tackle in 2022, helping lead Iowa Western to the second-most rushing yards in the JUCO ranks. That season, he allowed zero sacks and recorded 60 knockdowns, showcasing the run-blocking upside that made him a coveted transfer prospect.

Hampton has one year of eligibility remaining, making him a potential plug-and-play option or valuable depth piece for a Wolfpack offensive line that has seen turnover.
