Here’s the Top-10 list of active head coaches by career wins:

  1. Kirk Ferentz – Iowa – 213
  2. Dabo Swinney – Clemson – 187
  3. Kyle Whittingham – Utah – 177
  4. Bronco Mendenhall – New Mexico – 146
  5. Rich Rodriguez – Jacksonville State – 140
  6. Troy Calhoun – Air Force – 139
  7. Bret Bielema – Illinois – 134
  8. James Franklin – Penn State – 128
  9. Ken Niumatalolo – San Jose State – 119
  10. Dave Doeren – NC State – 118

The only other ACC head coach in the Top-10 is Clemson’s Dabo Swinney.

Doeren is also the 4th-longest tenured head coach in the FBS, a testament to both stability and sustained success in an era where coaching turnover is constant.

Doeren is the all-time winningest coach in NC State history. He has led the Wolfpack to 11 bowl appearances, the most in school history. NC State has had winning seasons in 10 of his 13 seasons in Raleigh. Under Doeren, NC State has won 8 or more games in 7 of the last 9 seasons and ranks 2nd in the ACC in conference wins since 2020.
