The NC State Wolfpack (14-3 overall, ranked No. 10 nationally) host the Boston College Eagles (10-6 overall, 2-1 in ACC play) today, March 13, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. ET at Doak Field at Dail Park in Raleigh, NC. This marks the start of ACC conference play for NC State and a key early test for both teams in the league standings. The three-game weekend series continues Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m., all streamed on ACCNX.

NC State holds a strong historical edge in the all-time series (37-18) and has won four of the last five meetings, including going 8-2 in the last 10 matchups. They’re 19-9 all-time at home against BC.

The Pack rolls into ACC play looking to prove they are a contender

The Wolfpack have been very good through the non-conference slate, posting a 14-3 record with a powerful offense that is ranking among the nation’s best, and a pitching starting staff that has been lights-out thus far. However, there have been a few hiccups, including a 1-0 loss to Princeton, a loss to Lafayette, and just this week, a loss to Elon.

You’d like to see NC State come out of non-conference unscathed, but Avent wanted to see how some of his less-established guys looked and basically threw bullpen games vs Elon and Lafayette, which had some of the fanbase frustrated.

However, when NC State is playing their starters, they’ve been great. They boast a high team batting average (.346 overall through early games), with explosive power (36 HRs ) and strong on-base skills (.457 OBP). Meanwhile, the Marohn, Dudan, and Consiglio have a combined 1.16 ERA over 54 total innings pitched. They have also combined for 74 Ks during that time.

Right now they are ranked 10th in the D1 baseball poll, with Georgia Tech (#4) seeming like the other ACC squad that are going to make real national noise. But don’t sleep on Wake Forest, Virginia, FSU, or UNC. They are all in the Top-25 as well, making this ACC slate a gaunlet that is going to test just how strong this Wolfpack roster really is.

Boston College is looking to build off of a strong series vs. Miami

The Eagles are 10-6 overall and have started ACC play at 2-1 after taking two of three from then-ranked 24th Miami (March 6-8). They showed offensive firepower in a wild midweek win over UConn on March 10 (26-19), exploding for 19 hits and multiple home runs. But it’s really unclear if they can put it all together this season.

They are hitting .261 as a team with decent power (15 HRs early) and good speed (35-40 SB), while the staff has kept them competitive.

First baseman Nick Wang is doing most of their damage on offense. He’s hitting .317 with 8 homers and 28 RBIs. It would be wise for NC State to pitch around him in this series, as the rest of the offense has been pretty bland in the early going.
