NC State is swinging big on the recruiting trail.

According to reports, the Wolfpack hosted 5-star forward CJ Rosser (6’10”, 195 pounds), the No. 1 overall player in the 2027 class, for an unofficial visit this week.

Rosser was originally offered by former head coach Will Wade last June, and it’s clear that Justin Gainey and his staff are working to build on those established relationships.

Elite Status

Rosser is a consensus 5-star prospect and one of the most sought-after players in the country.

  • Rivals: No. 1 overall nationally
  • 247Sports: No. 2 overall
  • ESPN: No. 2 overall

Offer List Loaded

As expected for a player of his caliber, Rosser’s recruitment is stacked with blue-blood programs, holding offers from:

UNC, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Kansas, Texas A&M, TCU, Michigan, USC, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Miami, Syracuse, Alabama, Mississippi State, Arkansas, BYU, Auburn, Villanova, and more.

In-State Connection

While Rosser currently plays at Southeastern Prep Academy in Orlando, he’s originally from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, a detail that could give NC State a valuable edge as they battle national powers for his commitment.

On the Court

This past season, Rosser averaged 16.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks for the Falcons.
