NC State has added another key piece out of the transfer portal, landing Colorado guard Desiree Wooten following her official visit to Raleigh.

Wooten, a 5’8” guard, is coming off a strong season with the Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball, where she earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors.

In her lone season at Colorado, Wooten led the team in scoring, averaging 13.4 points per game while also contributing 3.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals. She shot 38% from the field and 35.2% from three-point range.

Before her time in Boulder, Wooten spent three seasons at North Texas, where she established herself as a two-way standout. As a redshirt sophomore, she earned Second Team All-AAC and All-Defensive Team honors.

With her commitment, NC State continues to build through the portal, adding a proven scorer and experienced backcourt presence.

Wooten becomes the second transfer addition for the Wolfpack this offseason, joining Auburn forward Khady Leye.
