The new Coaches Poll is out today and the ACC has three teams ranked in the Top 25:

Florida St – 8th
Clemson – 12th
Georgia Tech – 16th (+1)

FSU crushed Texas St. 59-16, and Clemson handled Wofford 49-10.  Georgia Tech’s 69-6 decimation of Alcorn St. bumped them up one spot.

Five other ACC schools received votes, but failed to make the Top 25, and NC State was one of them.

Duke – 15 votes (33rd)
Miami – 12 votes (35th)
Louisville – 6 votes (37th)
NC State – 4 votes (40th)

NC State had 3 votes in the preseason poll, which ranked 45th overall.  Duke and the Wolfpack were the only ACC teams that previously received votes, that received more after week 1.  Duke picked up 9 more votes this go around after crushing Tulane 37-7, ranking 40th in the preseason poll.

Pitt didn’t receive any votes in the preseason poll, but picked up two this week after squeaking by Youngstown St. 45-37.

Louisville lost 21 votes after losing to #6 Auburn.  Miami defeated Bethune-Cook 45-0, but lost 4 votes.

Virginia Tech also had 42 votes in the preseason poll, but didn’t receive any votes after losing to #1 ranked Ohio State and losing their starting quarterback for 4-5 weeks with a broken collarbone.  UNC received 2 votes in the preseason poll, but picked up none this week after their loss to South Carolina.
