NC State has spread the ball out to many different receivers this season.  In fact, it isn’t even a wide receiver that is leading the team in receptions at all.  The leader for NC State is none other than FB/TE Jaylen Samuels who has 27 receptions thus far.  Following Samuels is running back Matt Dayes with 21 receptions.  Jacoby has hit a total of 14 different players for NC State, but the majority of his completions are to full backs and running backs.  Of the 110 completions on the season 61 0f those have been caught by a tight end, fullback, or a running back, good for 55 percent of the total completions.

It can be argued that State needs to take more shots down the field and the man who needs to be targeted could be Jumichael Ramos.  Ramos has 17 receptions on the season and has shown good burst in the open field.  If NC State can loosen up the box by connecting on some deep throws then they will be more successful in the run game and the screen game.  Another interesting note is the last time a non-receiver led the Pack in receptions was when tight end Anthony Hill did it back in 2006.

Look for NC State to continue to spread the wealth in the air, but try and include the receivers a little more down the field.  The bye week could not have come at a better time for the Wolfpack.
