Missouri Transfer PG Blake Harris is at NC State Today

Published

on

Point Guard Blake Harris decided to transfer from Missouri 3 days ago, and we told you to keep your eyes peeled. The former 4-star prospect out of Word of God Academy here in Raleigh wanted to move back closer to home.

Well, it didn’t take long for NC State to get back into the mix with Harris. He’s on campus in Raleigh today.

Harris was originally a Washington signee, but after they fired their coach, he reopened his recruitment and ended up landing at Missouri. NC State has wanted Harris ever since Kevin Keatts showed up on the scene. Shortly before committing to Missouri, the Wolfpack offered Harris, and even had him on campus for an unofficial visit in March.

The Missouri transfer is no slouch either. He was the #99 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class according to ESPN, and the #3 player in the state of North Carolina. Harris held offers from the likes of UCONN, Michigan St., Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, LSU, and others.

The fact that NC State is the first school that Harris steps foot on after getting his release from Missouri is a very good sign. Wherever he ends up, he will have to sit out the rest of this season and the first half of next season as well.

According to Patrick O’Brien at Phenom Hoops, Ambrose-Hylton will be taking an Official Visit to NC State next weekend (September 27-29). He also has Official Visits scheduled to the rest of the schools in his Final 5 as well (He already took one to Dayton).

Here’s what he told O’Brien about the Wolfpack:

NC State: “Great team, great transition.  Head coach Kevin Keatts has stated I will make a huge impact in my freshman year.  The Wolfpack seems insane, they definitely go hard for their team.” (PH)

ESPN ranks Ambrose as the #58 overall player in the 2020 recruiting class, the #13 small forward, and the #1 player in the state of Ontario, Canada. 247Sports ranks him as the #13 Power Forward in 2020.

NC State was late to the party, offering Ambrose-Hylton less than 2 weeks ago (September 9), but they must have made quite the impression.
