NC State Players are Recruiting 4-Star LB Drake Thomas

Published

on

4-Star linebacker Drake Thomas is one of NC State’s top priorities in the 2019 recruiting class. Thomas was teammates with two NC State 2018 signees in Ricky Person and Joseph Boletepeli at Heritage High School in Wake Forest.

Thomas had 112 tackles and 3 interceptions as a Junior this season. He earned All-USA Today Second Team as a Junior.

Some of his friends who are now wearing red and white are showing him Wolfpack love on Twitter.

Thomas and Payton Wilson have been close friends for sometime, and the two of them would make a dynamic duo at linebacker at the next level.

Recently, 247Sports Regional Recruiting Analyst, Michael Clark, predicted that Thomas would pick NC State. In 2018, 89% of his picks were right (38 total picks). Also, Steve Wiltfong, 247Sports Director of Recruiting, also picked Thomas to NC State. In 2018, 91% of his picks (352 total picks) turned out right.

Thomas has visited NC State on numerous occasions, and the Wolfpack would love for him to be one of the first ones to join the 2019 Class.

ON3, 247Sports and Rivals all rank Brown as a Top-250 prospect. ON3 and 247Sports both rank him in the Top-100, with 247Sports ranking him as the #16 overall player nationally in the 2026 recruiting class, the #3 Wide Receiver and the #1 player in the state of Virginia.

NC State offered Brown on January 18th, and he also holds offers from Penn St., Virginia Tech, UVA, Duke, South Carolina, Boston College, Maryland, Pitt, UNC, FSU, Miami, Tennessee, Louisville, Michigan, SMU and others.

This past season, Brown had 34 receptions for 578 yards and 5 touchdowns for Trinity Episcopal in Richmond, Virginia. He also rushed the ball for 366 yards and 3 touchdowns.
