NC State watched Tariq Balogun and 4-star Aundre Hyatt (2019) last night

According to Rivals recruiting analyst, Corey Evans, the NC State coaching staff wasn’t taking things easy the week after their upset win over UNC. They were reportedly in the gym checking out two 2019 Miller School (Charlottesville, Va) prospects.

Aundre Hyatt is the more known of the two prospects. He is a 6’6, 216lb 4-star who was originally a 2018 prospect but reclassified to 2019 last summer.

Hyatt hails from the Bronx, NY but is playing in Virginia at The Miller School and for the Boo Williams AAU team (both high profile basketball programs). So far he’s visited Rutgers and Seton Hall, so the early thinking is that he is looking to head back up north for college. However, interest is really starting to pick up for him, so when higher profile schools get involved, things may change. FSU, VT, and LSU are all in the mix currently.

As far as skill-set goes, Hyatt is a big kid with a sweet stroke. He’s known for his shooting but has the frame to be really become a full-on offensive threat. Check out his highlights here…

As for Tariq Balogun, he is originally from London and honestly, there isn’t too much info on him. It seems as if Virginia Tech is the only school that has shown a lot of interest (he’s visited them this past fall). He is unranked on most scouting networks, but judging by his video, he’s probably going to start getting some interest. He’s a springy 6’9 kid with a decent stroke. Take a look for yourself…

Neither one of these guys have really been on NC State’s radar until now, so we’ll continue to follow up with this. Are these true targets for Keatts and co, or were they just giving them an in-person look?
