2019 Punter Collin Smith Commits to NC State

Published

on

2019 Punter Collin Smith has verbally committed to NC State. Smith plays for Eastern Guilford (Greensboro, NC).

Kicking expert Chris Sailer ranks Smith as the #24 punter in the 2019 recruiting class.

Collin is an excellent punting and kicking prospect. A great looking athlete with big time college potential. He does an outstanding job punting the football. He averages 40+ yards, with 4.4+ hang time. He also shows the ability to hit 50+ yard punts with 5.0+ yard hang time. One of the more consistent high school punters in America. Also a very talented kicker. He hits an outstanding ball off the ground on field goal. His kickoffs are college ready. He drives the ball deep on kickoffs with 4.0+ hang time. He is a competitor that thrives under pressure. There is great upside all around upside here. He is a real sleeper in this class. He is going to make a great addition to any college football team. Strong combo prospect. OFFER NOW!!!

4-Star 2026 Wide Receiver Davion Brown (6’1″/200) took an unofficial visit to NC State today.

ON3, 247Sports and Rivals all rank Brown as a Top-250 prospect. ON3 and 247Sports both rank him in the Top-100, with 247Sports ranking him as the #16 overall player nationally in the 2026 recruiting class, the #3 Wide Receiver and the #1 player in the state of Virginia.

NC State offered Brown on January 18th, and he also holds offers from Penn St., Virginia Tech, UVA, Duke, South Carolina, Boston College, Maryland, Pitt, UNC, FSU, Miami, Tennessee, Louisville, Michigan, SMU and others.

This past season, Brown had 34 receptions for 578 yards and 5 touchdowns for Trinity Episcopal in Richmond, Virginia. He also rushed the ball for 366 yards and 3 touchdowns. Those stats are already impressive for a Sophomore, but they would have been even better if he didn’t miss 4 games due to injury.
