NC State continues to add depth to its pitching staff through the Transfer Portal.

UNC Pembroke right-handed pitcher Harrison Holbrook (6-foot-7, 245 pounds) announced yesterday that he will continue his collegiate career with the Wolfpack.

Holbrook becomes another addition to Chris Hart’s first roster as head coach, bringing size, experience, and a pitcher trending in the right direction.

Breakout Sophomore Season

Holbrook showed significant improvement during his second collegiate season with the Braves.

2026 Statistics

3.20 ERA
10 appearances
16.2 innings pitched
10 strikeouts
14 walks

While his strikeout-to-walk ratio still leaves room for growth, Holbrook proved to be an effective bullpen arm, dramatically lowering his ERA from his freshman campaign.

Big Leap from Year One

One of the most encouraging aspects of Holbrook’s profile is his year-over-year development.

As a freshman in 2025, he appeared in eight games and finished with a 12.10 ERA.

One season later, he cut that number to 3.20, illustrating the progress he made on the mound.

That improvement likely caught the attention of NC State’s coaching staff as it continues rebuilding the pitching staff through the Transfer Portal.

North Carolina Product

Holbrook is no stranger to the state.

The 6-foot-7 right-hander played his high school baseball at West Wilkes High School in Wilkesboro before beginning his collegiate career at UNC Pembroke.

Now he’ll have the opportunity to compete at the Power Four level in Raleigh.

Another Arm for Chris Hart

Pitching has clearly been a point of emphasis this offseason.

Holbrook joins a growing list of transfer additions that includes:

Hunter Warren (Wright State)
Chet Lax (Wright State)
Jesse Gutierrez (San Jose State)
McCall Biemiller (Florida)
Andrew Raymond (Mississippi State)
Maddox Monsour (Texas)
Connor Chicoli (South Carolina)

With several pitchers departing via graduation, the MLB Draft, and the Transfer Portal, NC State has aggressively added depth throughout the offseason.
