This past weekend marked the 2nd week of the 2022 High School Football season. Here’s a rundown of how some of the 2023 NC State commits showed out.

4-Star Tight End Javonte Vereen had 6 receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown, and he also added a 1-yard touchdown run in Havelock’s 62-0 victory over West Carteret.

Through 2 games, Vereen has 9 receptions for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns.

4-Star Athlete Zack Myers had 2 receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown in Christ School’s 39-7 victory over Polk County. He also had 1 tackle and 3 pass breakups.

Through 2 games, Myers has 3 receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown, and 10 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 3 pass breakups.

I couldn’t tack down stats for 4-Star Wide Receiver Kevin Concepcion, but he made quite a few plays in Chambers 26-20 loss to Highland Springs, including a touchdown reception.

Since I didn’t report on 4-Star Safety Daemon Fagan in Week 1 (stats and video weren’t up at the time), I’ll play catch up. In Week 1, Fagan had 7 tackles and 2 pass breakups in American Heritage’s 38-20 victory over Lowndes.

3-Star Quarterback Lex Thomas led Heritage to a 30-18 victory over South Granville, completing 8 of 15 for 123 yards and a touchdown, and 4 rushes for 45 yards and a touchdown. His brothers, Thayer and Drake Thomas were in attendance as well.

Here are 3-Star Cornerback Brandon Cisse’s highlights from Lakewood’s 30-0 victory over Fox Creek.
