Due to inclement weather expected on Saturday, #14 NC State’s (9-2) ACC Series Opener against Boston College will kick off today with a double header, with Game 1 starting at 3pm, and Game 2 starting at 6:30pm. The Series Finale will be on Sunday at 11am.

Here’s a look at the projected Starting Pitchers for the series:

Friday (Game 1) – RHP Logan Whitaker (NCSU) vs. RHP John West (Boston College)
Friday (Game 2) – RHP Sam Highfill (NCSU) vs. LHP A.J. Colarusso (Boston College)
Sunday – LHP Dominic Fritton (NCSU) vs. TBD (Boston College)

This is a mix up from the rotation used in the first three series. In the Wolfpack’s first three series of 2024, Senior Sam Highfill was the Friday starter, Sophomore Dominic Fritton was the Saturday starter, and Freshman Ryan Marohn started on Sunday.

Through 3 starts, Marohn was 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA, striking out 14 batters in 14 innings, walking 8. After surrendering 0 earned runs in his collegiate debut, Marohn has given up 7 earned runs in his last 9 innings pitched.

After struggling in his first two appearances, Senior Logan Whitaker was stellar in his first start of the season against Towson last weekend, pitching 6 shutout innings, striking out 4, while walking none. Whitaker enters the weekend with a 4.26 ERA.

The series between NC State and Boston College started in 2003, and the Wolfpack enter today’s games with a 34-18 advantage in the series. NC State has won 5 of the last 6 against BC in Raleigh.

Boston College enters the series with a 7-3 record.
