NC State Coaches Were in Attendance for 5-Star PG Deron Rippey Jr.’s Season Opener

NC State coaches were in attendance for 5-Star 2026 Point Guard Deron Rippey Jr.’s season opener on Wednesday night. The #1 player in the state of New Jersey had 21 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 4 steals in Blair’s 118-61 win over Great Barrington Academy.

On Monday, Rippey Jr. included NC State in his Top-5 schools, along with Tennessee, Duke, Miami and Texas. Rippey Jr. took his final Official Visit to NC State two weeks ago.

Rivals ranks Rippey Jr. as the #5 overall player nationally in the 2026 recruiting class, the #2 Point Guard and the #1 player in the state of New Jersey.

The Wolfpack offered Rippey Jr. on June 17th.

Last year, he led Blair Academy to a 24-4 record, averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. Rippey Jr. was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in New Jersey as a Junior.
