NC State legendary Quarterback Philip Rivers stepped on to an NFL football field yesterday for the first time in 1,800 days, and he nearly led the Colts to an upset over the Seahawks.

Rivers was 18 of 27 for 127 yards and a touchdown (1 interception).

The former ACC Player of the Year joined Brett Favre, becoming only the 2nd grandfather in NFL history to throw a touchdown pass.

Rivers might be 44 years old, but the emotion he showed after the touchdown pass shows that some things never change.

It was beautiful to watch the St. Michael High School football team celebrate watching their coach throw a touchdown on television.

Hearing an emotional Rivers bare his soul after the game, brought tears to my eyes.

Check out what the national media thought of Rivers’ performance.

Indy Head Coach Shane Steichen announced today that Rivers’ will once again serve as the Colts’ starter next Monday against the 49ers.
