The Rangers Draft NC State 2024 Baseball Commit SS Devin Fitz-Gerald in the 5th Round

The Texas Rangers have drafted NC State commit Shortstop Devin Fitz-Gerald in the 5th Round of the 2024 MLB Draft, with the 165th overall pick.

Fitz-Gerald is ranked as the #50 overall player nationally in the 2024 recruiting class according to Perfect Game, and the #12 Shortstop. They also rank him as the #9 player in the state of Florida, and the #2 Shortstop in the Sunshine State.

Back in January of 2022, when Fitz-Gerald was a Sophomore at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (Parkland, FL), he verbally committed to run with the Wolfpack.

This past season, Fitz-Gerald hit .397 in high school with 11 home runs and 63 RBIs, earning All-American honors. He played varsity all four years at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, winning the State Championship each year, and the National Championship three times.

Fitz-Gerald has until August 1st at 5pm to decide whether he will sign with the Rangers, or enroll at NC State.
