The Padres Draft NC State SS Brandon Butterworth in the 12th Round

The San Diego Padres drafted NC State Shortstop Brandon Butterworth (Rising Senior) in the 12th Round of the 2024 MLB Draft, with the 360th overall pick.

Butterworth transferred to NC State last offseason from Western Carolina. This past season, he hit.250 with 46 Runs, 56 Hits, 13 Doubles, 2 Triples, 7 Home Runs, 33 RBI’s and 13 Stolen Bases (14 attempts). His work in the field was impressive, boasting a .949 Fielding Percentage, with 71 Putouts and 133 Assists, while helping turn 26 Double Plays.

His most memorable play as a Junior for the Wolfpack was his Walk-Off Home Run against UNC.
