3-Star 2025 Defensive End Mykah Newton (6’3″/250) flipped his commitment from NC State to Miami today.

Newton verbally committed to NC State on July 18th, but once Miami offered on July 22nd, I knew it was going to be difficult to hold on to him, being a player that hails from the Sunshine State.

Newton plays for Newberry High School in Newberry, Florida. ON3 ranks him as the #78 overall player in Florida in the 2025 class.

His Junior stats last season were extremely impressive, racking up 62 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.

NC State offered Newton on May 13th. Newton took an Official Visit to NC State on June 7-9.
