NC State offered Pitt Transfer Sophomore Linebacker Jordan Bass (6’4″/230) yesterday.

Bass was rated as a 4-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class by ESPN, ON3 and 247Sports. ESPN ranked him as the #48 overall player nationally, the #4 Linebacker and the #1 player in the state of Virginia.

Despite being an elite talent in the Panthers’ 2023 recruiting class, Bass didn’t carve out a significant role in Pitt’s defense over the past two years.

In 2023, as a True Freshman, Bass played in 10 games, recording 11 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. He only played at Linebacker in 7 of those games, starting in 1. In total, he played 114 snaps as a True Freshman at Linebacker.

This season, Bass played in 9 games at Linebacker as a reserve, tallying 14 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 1 pass breakup. He played in 115 snaps, and had a PFF grade of 67.4.

NC State didn’t offer him when he was a high school prospect.

Since entering the Portal, Bass has picked up offers from NC State, Virginia Tech, Norfolk State, Kansas and UNLV.
