After tying Pitt 1-1 on the road last Friday night, the NC State Men’s Soccer (7-0-2) team fell 1 spot to #2 in the Week 6 United Soccer Coaches Poll.

Portland, who was ranked 2nd last week, hopped over the Pack for the #1 spot.

The Wolfpack was robbed of a win in Pittsburgh on Friday.

Junior sensation Donavan Phillip scored NC State’s lone goal of the contest with barely a minute expired off the clock to start the game.

He was robbed of a possible game-winning goal in the 72nd minute, for an alleged push in the box.

Phillip leads the NCAA with 13 goals on the year, which is 5 more goals than the next guy in line. Junior Tyler Canton is tied for 3rd nationally with 6 assists.

NC State was the last college soccer team to allow a goal this season, surrendering their first of the season on Friday night to the Panthers. The Wolfpack ranks 1st nationally in Team Goals Against Average, and ranks 3rd in Scoring Offense.

This week, NC State has two home games on the docket. The Pack will host UNCW (3-3-2) this evening at 7pm, and #16 UVA (5-1-2) comes to town on Sunday (6pm/ACC Network).
