The No. 5 NC State Men’s Soccer team will face Louisville in the first round of the 2025 ACC Tournament this evening. A fifth-place national finish at the end of the regular season marks the highest ranking in school history.

The Wolfpack earned the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament after finishing with a 4-1-3 record in ACC play, and will host No. 14 seed Louisville (1-5-2) tonight at 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. NC State was picked to finish eighth in the ACC Preseason Poll after placing ninth in 2024.

Junior Donavan Philip finished the regular season with 15 goals, with is tied for the most goals scored in the nation. The Wolfpack’s .250 Team Goals Against Average is tops in the country.

The last time the Wolfpack won four conference games in the regular season was 2005, when it went 4-3-1. The last time NC State finished the regular season with only one conference loss was 1995, when the Pack went 5-1-0 in ACC play.

What Marc Hubbard has accomplished with the NC State men’s soccer program in just two years is remarkable—leading the Wolfpack to its best conference record since 1995.

If the Wolfpack wins, they will face the winner of No. 6 seed Syracuse and No. 11 seed Virginia Tech tomorrow night at 8 p.m.

NC State closed the regular season with an 11-1-4 overall record, ranked No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. For the first time in school history, NC State finished the regular season with just one loss. The Wolfpack’s 81.2% winning percentage is the best in program history for a regular season.

In Year Two of the Marc Hubbard era, NC State has delivered the best regular season in school history.
